Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A quiet Henderson neighborhood is left shaken up after shots were fired in their streets, hitting vehicles and a home.
Three separate calls came into the Henderson Police Department on Sunday night reporting the crime.
According to law enforcement, four vehicles and one house were sprayed with bullets. It happened in three different locations, all in the area of Windmill Lane and Eastern Avenue.
Steve Hrustyk was home with his wife and five children, when bullets started flying into his van and house.
"Three bullets went through the back of my van. One went through my head-rest where the driver's seat is. They all exited the windshield and went through my garage door," he explained.
One of the bullets traveled all the way through the garage and through the back door into his home. That bullet landed in a pile of laundry, only about 10-feet away from where his wife was standing.
The couple and their kids hid inside and called for help.
"The police got here and said that it had happened all around the neighborhood," said Hrustyk.
Some neigbors said they heard loud noises, but never thought they were in danager.
"I heard a 'pop, pop, pop' and then that was it, so I figured it must be kids with firecrackers or something," said neighbor Lisa Campbell.
Police told Action News they believe the targets were selected at random. An investigation is underway to catch who is responsible.
Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
