Grinches snatch Salvation Army bell ringer's kettle

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The search is on for two grinches who robbed a Salvation Army bell ringer.

A padlock now prevents what happened Wednesday night.

Leroy Fuller says a man and a woman walked by him several times at the Smith's grocery store on Rainbow Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue, before the man snatched the kettle and the couple ran off.

Salvation Army public relations officer Leslee Rogers says kettle grabs are rare. She says, "He's so genuine and he's so sweet and it breaks my heart that someone would take advantage of his situation."

Fuller needs a walker. His vision is blurred. But even after being robbed for the first time in  fifteen years, he says he feels the true meaning of Christmas includes forgiveness.

The assistant store manager says word of the crime spiked donations, and Smith's is donating $1,000.

The store does have surveillance video and is cooperating with authorities but if you have any information about these two particular grinches call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
