(KTNV) -- The government shutdown continues this morning and both parties on Capitol Hill seem to be digging in for a long fight.
Neither side seems willing to take responsibility or back down.
President Obama is calling on Republicans to pass a spending bill that doesn't make any cuts to Obamacare. He says that's they only way he will negotiate.
Republicans say that is not a negotiation, giving someone everything they want in order for them to sit down and talk.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is not mincing words. He is calling for Obama to rise above and do what it takes to bring the nation together.
While there is still no progress, there is some hope.
Civilian employees at the Department of Defense of been furloughed since the shutdown but they will start returning to work this week.
And on a related note, the House passed a bill Saturday providing back pay to federal workers who were furloughed.
The Senate hasn't voted to pass it yet.
