Reno, NV (KTNV) -- The days keep ticking by, and the start of a new school year is almost here.
On Friday, Gov. Brian Sandoval and Nevada's first lady met with teachers in charge of some of the state's smallest students.
The governor held a symposium in Reno for preschool through third grade teachers. 100 early childhood education leaders came from around Nevada.
They were there to discuss best practices and strategies for improving education.
"We're all coming together. When I talk about the Nevada family that is going to work together and do everything it can to provide a quality education for our children," said Gov. Sandoval.
The symposium was paid for by a grant from the National Governor's Association.
