Golf tournament raises money for locals battling cancer
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- For 17 months, Brandon Thompson battled glioblastoma multiforme, a form of brain cancer.
One of his hopes during his battle was to help prevent others from facing all of the challenges he had to endure as a cancer patient.
After Brandon's passing, his family and friends wanted to do something in his honor. They founded the Brandon Thomas Memorial Golf Tournament with proceeds benefiting the ORION Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization helping cancer patients in financial hardship.
On Monday, Oct. 28, the tournament kicks off at Arroyo Golf Course at Red Rock. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The $150 fee includes 18 holes of golf, range balls and awards luncheon.
