Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Golf legend Ernie Els spent the day teaching children with autism how to tee off like a professional.
Monday's special event introduced the world of golf to children dealing with autism disorders at the Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson.
The fundraising event has been going on all around the country and finally culminated with a finale on Monday.
Els said the disorder is something both he and his wife have personally dealt with.
"We're affected by autism ourselves, myself and my wife. We have an 11-year-old autistic son. A couple years ago we thought we'll do something about autism awareness," said Els.
Teams that hit the golf course on Monday won their place, not only by proving their skills on the course, but by also raising thousands of dollars in donations.
