Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- With 188 guest rooms, it's going to be one of the smallest luxury hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, but it's going to have a very prominent location.
We are getting a better idea of what Gansevoort Las Vegas is going to be like once it opens on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. It's where Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon and the Barbary Coast used to be.
Gansevoort currently operates three hotels: Two in New York and one in Turks & Caicos. But Gansevoort Las Vegas will be the first with gaming. Michael Achenbaum, president of Gansevoort Hotel Group, estimates this location will employ 1,000 people.
Achanbaum explained that Gansevoort hotels have a luxury lifestyle feel.
He showed Action News artist renderings that show the rich color scheme and French detailing. He says the front of the building will show off the 300-seat Italian restaurant that celebrity chef Giada Di Laurentiis is putting her name on.
The casino-hotel will also feature Drai's Beach Club and Nightclub.
Gansevoort Las Vegas is scheduled to open in April 2014.
