Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A mother and her son were murdered in their Henderson apartment last week, now members of the community are coming together to help pay for funeral costs.
Family members have also spoken to 16-year-old Adrian Navarro-Canales who is accused of murdering his mother and his brother.
He is currently in the Clark County Detention Center awaiting trial.
Ana Martinez, his cousin, said she met with Adrian at the jail Friday and said she was relieved he was found alive.
Adrian had been missing for a whole week.
Neighbors and friends in the community where the Navarro's lived, gathered to raise money to help pay for the funerals of the victims by selling snow cones.
Supporters of the cause included parents and students from Lamping Elementary, where 9-year-old Cesar Navarro was a fourth grader.
Some waited in line for over an hour to receive their snow cones, but said it was worth the wait to help a family in need.
The fundraiser brought in nearly $2,000 which will all go towards burial costs.
Adrian Navarro's arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
