Fun September events at Spring Mountain Ranch

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Spring Mountain Ranch is hosting a variety of events this September for both locals and visitors.
A Civil War re-enactment will take place Saturday, Sept. 14. The re-enactment will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is a unique and educational experience for everyone.
On Sept. 19 and 20, rangers will leader hikers on a hike to view the full moon. Both hikes will begin at 7 p.m. at the tour gate. Participation is limited so reservations are required.
Sept. 21 is Pioneer Day. The event will feature live music, spinning and weaving demonstrations, gold panning, black powder rifle shooting and candle dipping. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Spring Mountain Ranch is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas via West Charleston Boulevard in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
Sandstone Ranch is the centerpiece of the state park. It was established in 1876 and is on the United States National Register of Historic Places.
In addition, the ranch features Wilson cemetery, a sandstone cabin, blacksmith's shop, a corral, a two-hole outhouse and a chinchilla shed. Historic guide tours are available seven days a week.
Spring Mountain Ranch is also popular for its outdoor Super Summer Theatre.
