Formerly comatose Valley woman marks major milestone

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It’s been almost a year since a young Valley woman was left comatose after a terrible car wreck, but the woman and her family are now celebrating a major milestone, her return home.

Friends and family held a welcome home party for Annie-Monique Lippett after she spent last year in hospitals and rehab facilities.

Although the 20-year-old Spring Valley High School grad is now confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak, her family remains optimistic that Annie-Monique will continue making progress.

Her mother, Annie Dubro said, "She's never been a quitter, although she really can’t quite express it. But in her spirit, she's a fighter. She knows she's going to pull through this."
