Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss charged with growing pot
Pahrump, NV (KTNV) -- Heidi Fleiss, the former Hollywood madam and current Pahrump resident, has now been charged after nearly 400 marijuana plants were found in her home in August.
The 47-year-old Fleiss was charged this week with one count of opening or maintaining a place for unlawful sale, gift or use of controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
The plants were found after a Nye County Sheriff's Office deputy visited Fleiss' home on Churchill Road on Aug. 7.
The deputy was looking for a wanted person but found the plants instead.
Fleiss claimed that she was growing the plants for a cooperative in Las Vegas but was unable to provide documentation.
Fleiss was not arrested at the time of the discovery because she was cooperative and she had exotic birds in her home which would have posed a burden on county animal control officers.
Fleiss is scheduled to be arraigned in Pahrump on Oct. 23.
