Flash flood warning issued for portions of Clark County
Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for several portions of Clark County.
The warning will be in place until 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
At 5:15 p.m., the NWS Doppler Radar indicated very heavy rain from a thunderstorm over northwest Las Vegas. Rainfall from this storm is falling over washes that have been impacted by previous flash flooding and debris that has built up.
This warning covers a large portion of the previous warning for the Carpenter 1 wildfire burn area and extends farther east to just beyond Rainbow Boulevard.
Locations impacted include Mount Charleston, Floyd Lamb Park, Kyle Canyon Campground, Fletcher View Campground, Mary Jane Falls Campground, Searchlight, Cottonwood Cove Campground and Cottonwood Cove.
Flash flooding is expected in washes, low water crossings and on area roadways.
