Flash flood warning in effect for west central Clark County
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A flash flood warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m. for west central Clark County in Southern Nevada.
At 4:02 p.m., National Weather Service's Doppler Radar indicated very heavy rain near Trout Canyon and Lovell Canyon campgrounds.
The rain appear to moving northwest at 10 miles per hour.
Impacted areas include Carpenter 1 wildfire burn area and mainly other rural areas of western Clark County.
Because of lack of vegetation after the wildfire, water levels will rise much more rapidly during flash floods. Heavy rain will also lead to an increase of mud and debris flows in and downstream of the burn area.
