Fellow food critic provides update on Max Jacobson, info on benefit

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas food writer and critic Al Mancini visited Action News today to talk about food writer and critic Max Jacobson who is recovering after being hit by a vehicle.
Jacobson suffered traumatic brain injuries when he was hit while crossing a street in Henderson 11 days ago.
Mancini says that Jacobson has been taken out of a medically-induced coma but it could be weeks before doctors see any sign of response.
Mancini told Action News that the Jacobson family is very grateful for the tremendous support they have received from the Las Vegas communioty.
A benefit dinner has been scheduled for Jan. 19 at Mandalay Bay to help with medical costs. It will be the first in a series of fundraisers that are being called "Chefs to the Max."
A six-course menu will be prepared by an all-star cast of Las vegas chefs including Bruce Bromberg, Thomas Keller, Akira Back, Kim Canteenwalla, Luciano Pellegrini and Mary Sue Milliken.
