(KTNV) -- It is a bizarre story out of Pennsylvania.
A father says that he was forced to shoot and kill two intruders after they kicked down his door and killed his wife and son.
It wasn't until after firing the fatal shots that he realized on of the intruders was his estranged daughter. He had not seen her in 20 years.
Police say John and Robert Frew's 43-year-old daughter Josephine and her husband, Jeffrey Ruckinger, drove to the home, knocked on the door and opened fire.
Police are calling what happened next self defense.
They say the homeowner, John Frew Sr., ran to a back bedroom, grabbed a rifle and shot both Josephine and Jeffrey in the head.
They searched the home and the suspects' care parked at the end of the driveway. They found a large amount of ammunition, a gas can and lighter in the car.
