Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign was re-lit Friday to kickoff Las Vegas PRIDE, a celebration that supports members of the LGBT community and their straight allies.
The regular yellow incandescent bulbs were replaced with bulbs in the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple to emulate the LGBT rainbow flag, the symbol of diversity for the LGBT community.
Congresswoman Dina Titus, County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani, State Assemblywoman Lucy Flores, State Assemblyman James Healey, State Assemblywoman Heidi Swank and State Senator David Parks were among those that attended the ceremony.
The 30th annual PRIDE celebration will include a family skate night, family bingo, brunches, pool parties and the PRIDE Parade and Festival.
The festival is taking place from noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Clark County Government Center. Tickets are $15 general admission.
