North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Family and friends are planning to gather Monday night to remember a 34-year-old man shot and killed by North Las Vegas police earlier this month.

The vigil will take place at 9 p.m. near Tropical Parkway and Revere Street.

North Las Vegas police said Johnson ran from them when they attempted to stop him while he was riding his scooter.

He then pulled what appeared to be a real gun on the pursuing officers. He was shot multiple times. Police later discovered that it was a pellet gun.

The incident is still under investigation.
