Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas police officer who lost his life last year during a rescue on Mount Charleston was honored in Carson City on Thursday.

36-year-old David Vanbuskirk's name was added to the Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial in Carson City.

He was one of two people honored on Thursday for dying while in service to the citizens of Nevada.

Vanbuskirk fell to his death from a helicopter last summer while saving a hiker who was stranded on Mount Charleston.
