Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- The 9-year-old boy, allegedly killed by his older brother, Adrian Navarro-Canales, was a fourth grader at Lamping Elementary School.
Cesar and his 40-year-old mother, Elvira Canales-Gomez, were found stabbed to death last week in their Henderson apartment.
Now, his classmates and their parents are pitching in to raise money to offset funeral costs.
Cesar's family is facing some huge costs right now. They believe it would be Cesar and Elvira's wish to be buried alongside family at home in Mexico, but flying bodies out of the country is very expensive, so students and parents at Lamping are stepping up.
The school is sending out information about a Wells Fargo account established in the victim's names: Account # 7714518185.
Parents are circulating the information on Facebook and the school sent letters home with students, notifying them of the account.
Community members said they want to do everything they can to help the family during this tragic time.
On Tuesday, Cesar's classmates made cards and letters, written to Cesar in Heaven.
A fundraiser is planned at Rockstar Snowcones from 3-9 p.m. this Friday, where all proceeds will go to the family's burial costs. It's located at 10960 South Eastern Avenue in Henderson.
A car wash is also planned for Saturday at 1750 Rainbow Boulevard in front of J&J Auto Sound, beginning at 9 a.m.
