Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Horse-drawn carriages are coming back to downtown Las Vegas, but only as a trial period.
The Las Vegas City Council voted 4-3 on Wednesday, allowing them back in the downtown area.
Routes for the carriages were announced. They're bounded by Main Street on the west, Maryland Parkway on the east, Stewart Avenue on the north and Bonneville Avenue on the south.
Carriages will not be allowed on the entire length of Fremont Street, Las Vegas Boulevard, Maryland Parkway or on Casino Center Boulevard.
Animal activists rallied outside city hall on Wednesday, protesting the idea.
