Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- The community came together to remember Elvira Canales-Gomez and her 9-year-old-son Cesar Navarro.
The mother and son were stabbed to death, and left in their Henderson home last week.
Family and friends put on a car wash Saturday at J&J Sound near Charleston and Rainbow to raise money for the victims funeral expenses.
In addition to accepting donations for washing cars, volunteers also sold tamales and pastries; anything to help the family.
The car wash is said to have raised about $800 and counting, since about 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Organizers said they will continue to go strong until the last car leaves the lot.
16-year-old Adrian Navarro-Canales is the person accused of murdering his mother and brother. He is currently in jail without bail available.
His arraignment is set for Monday.
