North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- This time after after Christmas isn't just a busy time for stores handling returns. It's also when workers get slammed at Liquidation.com. It's an online site that takes a lot of the merchandise that people return to stores that cannot be restocked.
Liquidation.com works with seven of the ten top retailers in the U.S. to get its products. It has four warehouses in the U.S., including one in North Las Vegas. When items come into the warehouses, they are posted online and consumers can bid on them for prices that are a fraction of what they would normally cost.
Dan Brubaker of Liquidation.com says the company sells in bulk. So it makes sense that most of the website's customers are small businesses. Most of the items they resell are electronics, like XBox systems and Playstations, televisions, smart phones, and tablets. However, they also sell clothing, home appliances, toys, and much more.
The company has a second website, Secondipity.com, for folks who want to purchase individual items.
The National Retail Federation estimates that $58 billion worth of goods will be returned this holiday season.
