Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police have launched an investigation after a body was found burned in a backyard.
The body was found at a home in the 1300 block of Seal Beach Drive just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, near Washington Avenue and Jones Boulevard.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue initially responded to a fire at the home. When crews arrived, they found the deceased individual burned in the backyard.
Firefighters turned the investigation over the police, and homicide detectives are now investigating.
The Clark County Coroner has identified the body as 81-year-old Maria Ballesteros of Las Vegas. Her cause of death has not been determined.
