Brief thunderstorm in Laughlin area results in flooding

Laughlin, NV (KTNV) -- Storms slammed portions of southern Clark County Tuesday afternoon bringing heavy rainfall, large hail and gusty winds.

Flash flood warnings were issued for the Laughlin area, which got hit the hardest, with flooded roadways that brought more than 1" of rainfall and wind gusts near 70 mph reported at the airport in Bullhead City, Ariz.

No significant damage has been reported yet from the strong winds or flooding.

The storms moved east and flooded washes near Golden Valley, Ariz., and moved east toward Kingman.Rainfall totals for the area were 1.69 inches for Cal-nev-Ari; 0.98 for Laughlin; 0.87 for Bullhead City; 0.51 for Cottonwood Cove; and 0.39 inchdes for Searchlight.
