Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Back to school is a time of excitement and new beginnings, new friends, new teachers, new classrooms and new school supplies.

For some children across our valley, school supplies are a luxury. Many are unable to attain the materials needed to succeed in school.

Bank of America is stepping up to the plate for a fourth straight year, hosting a valley-wide school drive during the month of August.

Back-to-School Guide 2014

The drive has collected and delivered more than 21,000 school supply items.

This year, the drive launched on August 1 and will continue until August 28 and will benefit Sandy Miller Elementary School and Monaco Middle School.

The public is encouraged to participate, as donations will not only be collected internally, but collection receptacles will be stationed at each of the 50 plus Bank of America banking centers throughout Southern Nevada.

Desired supplies include paper, backpacks, pens and pencils, P.E. equipment and school uniform garments.

Check out the video above for more information.
