Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The local woman accused of trying to hire two men to kill her husband appeared in court Tuesday morning.
Bail was set at $40,000 for 48-year-old Leslie Zdehovan. Her next court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. She will be represented by a public defender.
The murder plot was discovered after it was reported by a man that Zdehoven met on an Internet dating site.
According to the police, the man came to the United States from the United Kingdom to meet Zdehoven. While he was there, he allegedly found out that Zdehovan had met with a man about having her husband killed.
The man contacted police about a possible "murder for hire." He then helped arrange a meeting between Zdehovan and a police detective.
The three of them met at the sportsbook bar at Sam's Town Casino. Zdehovan told the detective that she had already paid a man named "Willy" to carry out the hit.
The detective convinced Zdehovan to cancel the hit and hire him instead. After she agreed, she was arrested.
Police say that they attempted to warn her husband someone had been hired to kill him. They also attempted to contact "Willy."
