(KTNV) -- Retirement is something most of us daydream about but that day may never come for many people.
A new global report by a London-based bank says that one in eight workers worldwide will never be able to fully retire because they don't have enough money.
Things like low wages and high unemployment rates are being blamed. Longer life expectancy has also made the problem worse.
The report found that, on average, people expect to retire for about 18 years but they have only saved enough for 10 years.
In the 15 countries surveyed, about one in five people in America say they will be able to give up work completely. The international average is around one in eight.
Of those already in retirement, 44 percent of the people in the U.S. said they did not prepare adequately for retirement, compared to 38 percent globally.
