Authorities find burned body in Oakland apartment
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say they are investigating a suspicious death after finding a badly burned body in an Oakland apartment complex.
The Oakland Tribune reports officers responded around 5:10 a.m. Saturday to reports of a home on fire.
Fire fighters found the burned body inside the complex, and said the corpse was burnt beyond recognition.
The victim's identity has not been released but authorities say it appears to be a man.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case and thus far, no arrests have been made.
The death occurred in the same building where a 77-year-old woman was found dead after an apparent home invasion robbery on Feb. 7. Police have not said whether there is any connection.
