Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The man shot by police while shopping at 7-Eleven is now back in the hospital because of his injuries.
Action News spoke with the man's attorney who did not want to share too much about his client, withholding the man's name and other information.
But he did say the unarmed man shot by a Las Vegas police officer is now back in the hospital Friday because of injuries stemming from the shooting.
The man was shot late Monday night at the 7-Eleven near Nellis and Stewart.
According to police, a patrol officer thought he matched the description of the suspect in a double homicide which occurred nearby the night before.
Once inside the store, the officer ordered the man several times to show his hands.
They said he raised one hand, but not the other, and according to the police department, the officer felt threatened and fired one shot, hitting the man in the abdomen.
The shooting victim was transported to UMC that night, but was later released and obtained an attorney.
That attorney, who asked not to be identified just yet, said the injuries from the shooting have forced his client back into a hospital bed.
