Arizona man wanted for allegedly stabbing mother captured
UPDATED ON JULY 25: According to the Bullhead City Police Department, Zachary McGuire has been captured.
Security at a Laughlin casino spotted him early Thursday morning and contacted the Las Vegas police at the Laughlin substation.
He is now in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's custody and awaiting extradition to Arizona.
Bullhead City, AZ (KTNV) -- Bullhead City Police are searching for a man wanted for allegedly stabbing his mother while she was sleeping.
Police said it's possible the suspect is headed to Las Vegas, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has been notified.
On Wednesday around 3:30 a.m., police were called to an apartment complex on Klondike Way.
A 52-year-old woman reported she woke up to her son, 21-year-old Zachary Ryan McGuire, attacking her with a knife.
She had a laceration on her neck and defensive wounds on her arms, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate McGuire who had fled the scene. His mother said he suffers from mental issues.
McGuire is 5'8" and 140 pounds with blonde, spiked hair and hazel eyes.
He faces charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct involving a weapon.
