CREATED Aug. 23, 2013

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Action News sat down with David Brutsche, who is accused of plotting to kidnap, try and murder Las Vegas police officers, for an interview at the Clark County Detention Center.

Brutsche would not answer yes or no when he was asked if he really did plan to kidnap and kill a cop.

All he would say is that he thinks some police officers are violating the law.

Brutsche went on to say that he isn't a violent man and didn't want to harm anyone.

But, he does believe in self-defense.

Brutsche acknowledge that he is a member of the Sovereign Citizens Movement but only refers to himself as a sovereign and denies being part of what police call a domestic terrorist group.

Brutsche and Devon Newman were arrested after a four-month investigation. Police say that the pair met with undercover officers more than 30 times to discussing kidnapping and killing Las Vegas police officers.

They were arrested after officers were convinced they would put their plan into action.
