Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The man accused of robbing the Bellagio was due back in court on Thursday.
Scott Carmitchel is facing charges related to his behavior behind bars. His appearance on Thursday was on a fugitive arrest warrant from Kansas.
Carmitchel refused to appear in court for the second time in two days.
The judge determined the charges in Las Vegas were more serious than those in Kansas and ordered him to be held here.
A judge made the 34-year-old man pay when he refused to show up in court on Wednesday. He was bound to a chair, with a net over his head and a mask on his mouth. The suspect didn't say a word when the judge told him to read his charges.
Carmitchel was booked into the detention center on Sunday.
According to the arrest report, he robbed a cashier at the Bellagio on Friday taking off with $43,000. A tip led officers to Carmitchel at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Police said he spent some of the stolen money on prostitutes and designer merchandise.
Carmitchel's next hearing is set for Aug. 5.
