37-year-old man killed in North Las Vegas crash
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man was killed in an overnight crash in North Las Vegas.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and Texas Star Lane.
When police arrived, they found a 37-year-old man lying in the road unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel.
Three other men were transported to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicated the 37-year-old man was involved in a minor crash in the parking lot of Texas Station. He was reportedly attempting to flee from that crash, when he drove northbound on Lake Mead.
Police believe he failed to stop for a red light as he exited the parking lot and collided with a sedan that was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead.
There were three occupants in the sedan; an 18-year-old driver, 18-year-old passenger and 28-year-old passenger.
The 37-year-old man was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. It's unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
His name has not been released.
This was the 8th fatal crash in North Las Vegas this year.
