More than 300,000 expected in Las Vegas for Labor Day Weekend

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Millions of American are about to hit the road for the last long weekend of the summer.
The number of Americans traveling this Labor Day will be the highest level since the recession according to a forecast from AAA.
34.1 million people are expected to take a trip of 50 miles or more on Labor Day Weekend. 29.2 million of those will travel by car with gas prices for the period running lower than last year.
Another 2.6 million will fly.
Friday is the busiest travel day of the weekend. 46 percent of travelers will leave Friday.
Monday is the second busiest travel day when the most people will return home.
The top destinations for the long weekend are Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said about 308,000 people are expected to visit Las Vegas this weekend.
They will spend about $196 million while here and that does not include gaming revenue.
For international travel, Cancun tops the list.
