Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 31-year-old man was killed Wednesday while trimming trees at The Mirage hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
He was identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Arturo Mendez from Las Vegas.
MGM Resorts International released the following statement by Clark Dumont, senior vice president for MGM.
"We are mourning the loss of our colleague at The Mirage who was injured while on duty in the Horticultural Department trimming trees Wednesday morning and later passed away at the hospital. We are keeping his family in our thoughts as they go through this difficult time."
No information was giving on exactly how Mendez was killed. The official cause of death is still pending.
OSHA will be investigating the death.
