Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Action News met Ana Martinez on Tuesday night after she finished making funeral arrangements for her aunt, 40-year-old Elvira Canales-Gomez, and cousin, 9-year-old Cesar Navarro.
The mother and son were found stabbed to death inside their Henderson apartment last Friday. The mother's older son, 16-year-old Adrian Navarro-Canales, is accused of killing the two. Henderson police are currently searching for him.
"Deep inside it's killing me. It's really eating me alive knowing my aunt and little cousin are gone," said Martinez. "I can't let [Cesar] go. I can't let him go and I don't want to let him go."
Court documents reveal the accused teen killer may have had a history of being violent and anti-social. There's also evidence that he possibly continued residing at the apartment after the deaths of his mother and little brother.
Further information shows indications that he had been back to the apartment after law enforcement's investigation.
Still unable to let go, Martinez continues to carry around Cesar's hat and teddy bear. On Tuesday, she picked up cards from his classmates at Lamping Elementary School, filled with goodbye messages and drawings.
Martinez still won't let herself believe her cousin, Adrian, is to blame. "I don't find him innocent and I don't find him guilty, at the same time. I'm not worried about that. I just want him back [so] I can figure out what happened [with all of this]," she told Action News.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Adrian Navarro-Canales is asked to stay away from him and call police.
A fund to help with burial costs has been set up at Wells Fargo under the "Canales Donation" account.
A fundraiser car wash is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. in front of J&J Audio Sound at 1750 South Rainbow Boulevard.
