Man killed by oncoming train near Tropicana

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by an oncoming train near Tropicana Avenue, according to Union Pacific.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
A spokesperson for Union Pacific said a man appeared to be walking along the tracks when he was hit by the Union Pacific freight train.
The train crew was uninjured but were replaced for the remainder of their shift. Union Pacific said this is a standard practice for these types of incidents.
The Clark County Coroner identified the man killed as 32-year-old Greg Eckert of Las Vegas. He died of multiple injuries.
Union Pacific will continue to investigate this incident.
