Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Locals and tourists will soon be able to ride the largest observation wheel right here in Las Vegas.
The outer wheel of the 55-story High Roller observation wheel was hoisted into place on Tuesday afternoon.
The wheel itself is still under construction but the circle was completed on Tuesday. It was a milestone on the way to the opening of The LINQ, which will change the landscape of the Las Vegas Strip.
The observation wheel isn't set to open until next year, but will provide riders with a view of the Strip plus the entire Las Vegas Valley.
Once the passenger cabins are attached to the wheel, it will top out at 550-feet, making it the tallest in the world.
The big wheel is the focal point but there will soon be all kinds of shops and restaurants, scheduled to open in phases, completing the open-air entertainment district.
