Flash flood warning issued for central Clark County
Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for central Clark County.
The warning will stay in place until 5 p.m. Saturday.
At 1:50 p.m., the NWS Doppler Radar indicated very heavy rain from a thunderstorm near Southern Highlands in the far southern portion of the Las Vegas Valley.
The storm is expected to continue to develop over the southern part of the Valley with amounts of up to one-half inch in 10 minutes, causing rapid rises on area roadways, in washes and low water crossings.
Locations impacted include areas of the Las Vegas Valley mainly south of Windmill, Henderson, Southern Highlands, Seven Hills, Silverado Ranch, Mountains Edge, Green Valley and Railroad Pass.
A flood advisory has also been issued for rapid rises in normally dry washes in northwestern Clark County until 7:30 p.m.
Locations impacted include U.S. 95, Indian Springs and all campgrounds in the Spring Mountains and sheep ranges.
