Michigan man arrested in Las Vegas for murder of woman and child

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 24-year-old man from Saginaw, Mich., has been arrested in Las Vegas in connection to the shooting deaths of a woman and 6-year-old girl.
Michael Duane Lawrence is accused of killing his former girlfriend and her child at separate times. A federal arrest warrant was issued on Sept. 3.
According to MLive.com, Lawrence is accused of killing 6-year-old Lay'la Jones and her mother Angelica Olivarez.
Lay'la Jones was killed during a drive-by shooting on Aug. 29, 2012. Olivarez was killed in April.
A multi-state manhunt followed and he was arrested in Las Vegas by the Criminal Apprehension Team, an FBI-led task force made up of FBI agents and police officers from Las Vegas and Henderson.
Lawrence was arrested in Las Vegas on Aug. 30.
Lawrence is now in jail awaiting extradition to Michigan.
