1 dead, 1 injured after carjacking leads to crash in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police were called to the scene of a fatal crash on Sunday morning.
It happened around 11 a.m at the intersection of West Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard.
One man was killed and another was being treated for life-threatening injuries, following an alleged carjacking that led to a collision near the Gold Coast Casino.
Police said the suspect carjacked the victims at the Flamingo Hotel valet and then made it three miles, running three red lights before colliding with an SUV.
The subjects in the bed of the truck were ejected; one died at the scene and the other was transported to UMC.
Investigators said the victims of the carjacking were loading the bed of the truck, when the suspect jumped into the driver's seat and took off.
Police have not released the name of the suspect in the case or the victims.
The intersection at Flamingo and Valley View was closed for several hours, but police said they have a lot more investigating to do.
Police said the suspect was taken to the hospital and is under guard, while they determine what charges he may face.
