Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Red Rock Search and Rescue reports the body of a deceased male was discovered Friday afternoon inside a truck in the desert area of Corn Creek, just north of the Las Vegas Valley.
The subject was reportedly found with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Action News is still waiting for the coroner's office to identify the body.
This comes after rescuers started searching that same area earlier in the day for 31-year-old Creech Air Force Base Tech Sergeant Derek Langford who reportedly went missing on Tuesday night, after talking about going off-roading in his truck in the desert.
After News broke Friday afternoon of the body being found, the "Find Derek Langford" facebook page was updated with a post notifying the public that Langford had been found and that he was "no longer with us."
Langford's family said the airman was a father and he had served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It took Red Rock Search and Rescue roughly two hours and 40 volunteers to find the body, which was inside a truck matching the description of the one belonging to Langford.
They said it appeared as though the truck had not been involved in any sort of accident.
Metro said its Violent Crimes Unit will investigate, which is standard. If a murder was suspected, the homicide team would have been called in.
