Southbound I-15 shut down after high speed chase
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Southbound I-15 was shut down at Sahara following a high speed chase.
It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday night.
According to Las Vegas police, a man was walking around pointing a rifle at people before he got in his car.
The suspect drove into a cul-de-sac where officers were able to trap him in. The suspect then drove through people's lawns, hitting parked cars and then escaped the barricade. He entered the freeway and began the high speed pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the man surrendered to police after crashing his vehicle into a median at I-15 and Sahara. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
No one else was injured as a result of the incident.
I-15 has since reopened.
