Flash flood warning issued for west central Clark County
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A flash flood warning has been issued for west central Clark County until 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
At 12:20 p.m., the National Weather Service's Doppler Radar detected very heavy rain from thunderstorms near Mahogany Grove Campground and in Kyle Canyon on Mount Charleston.
The radar indicated that the storm was moving very slowly.
Locations impacted include Willow Creek Campground, Kyle Canyon and the area that was burned by the Carpenter 1 wildfire.
That means it is possible that the far northwestern portion of the Las Vegas Valley could once again see water coming down from the mountains that contain significant debris flow.
Flash flooding is expected in washes, low water crossings and on area roadways.
Report flooding to the National Weather Service by posting on their Las Vegas Facebook page or tag NWSVEGAS on Twitter.
Campers and hikers should be alert to the possibility of rapidly rising water and be prepared.
