Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you love basketball but aren't able to travel for whatever reason to see your favorite NBA team or player, you are in luck.

22 teams will be competing for the inaugural NBA Summer League Championship beginning July 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

For the first time, a tournament-style schedule will be introduced. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 12 to 16 before being seeded for tournament play.

The championship game will take place July 22.

The first game will feature New Orleans and the New York Knicks at 1 p.m. July 12.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who selected UNLV's Anthony Bennett with the first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft Pick, will play against the Los Angeles Lakers at 5 p.m.

38 games will be broadcast live and all of the games will be available on NBA.com and NBA Mobile.

Fans who want to check out the action in person should call 702-739-FANS for tickets.
