Gardnerville, NV (KTNV) -- The Bison Fire has grown to more than 7,000 acres of land.
An increasing number of fire crews and equipment continued on Saturday to build containment lines, with an emphasis on firefighter safety and minimizing impacts to structures.
High winds and very low humidity have made the fire extremely difficult to contain, but fire personnel made significant progress on Saturday slowing the fire.
The fire is now 30-percent contained, with full containment projected for Monday.
The fire has been pushed by steady winds primarily northeast and has moved over the crest of the Pine Nut Mountains in two spots south of Mt. Siegel.
No injuries have been reported and no structures have been lost.
There is still a voluntary evacuation notice for about 20 residences in the area.
