Security guard killed during fight in downtown Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An unarmed security guard was killed at about 2 a.m. Friday during a fight with another male in downtown Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the guard was fighting with 29-year-old Blake Valbracht when he fell to the ground and became unresponsive.

The fight took place in the 800 block of Bridger Avenue, near 8th Street.

The victim was transported to Valley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Valbracht stayed on the scene and surrendered to responding officers. He has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a murder charge.

The identity of the deceased and the exact cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner.

It is not known why the two men were fighting.
