Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Every year, a lot of pets turn up at the animal shelters after being frightened by fireworks on the Fourth of July.

This year is no different.

The Animal Foundation says that their shelter is filling up fast. More than 100 pets were brought in today before noon.

They suggest keeping animals inside any time there is loud noises near your residence.

They also recommend that all animals are micro-chipped.

The Animal Foundation started a new program today to help reunite lost pets with their owners.

They are now sending out tweets about pets on Twitter. Their account name is @VegasLostPets.
