Dipak Desai found guilty of second degree murder
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A verdict has been reached in the hepatitis C trial involving former doctor Dipak Desai.
Desai was found guilty of second degree murder, criminal neglect, criminal neglect with substantial bodily harm on several patients and insurance fraud.
Ronald Lakeman, his former employee, was also found guilty on several charges of criminal neglect with substantial bodily harm and insurance fraud.
Closing arguments happened last week in the trial.
The case stems from patients becoming infected with hepatitis C at Desai's now closed endoscopy center in Southern Nevada.
The outbreak happened in 2007.
