Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Troopers are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a woman alerted them to a dead body found along a busy Valley road.
"It's terrible," said Cynthia Sanchez who dialed 911. "He was laying there. It looked like he had been hit by a car, his body was thrown and there's a big boulder there, and he's kind of folded around it so you could tell, his back was broken and there was a lot of blood coming out of his head."
The body was found on Blue Diamond just west of Cimarron around 10 a.m. Friday.
Nevada Highway Patrol said the victim is a 29-year old man from Las Vegas.
Troopers are asking anyone who was driving on that stretch of Blue Diamond between the hours of 4 and 10 a.m. to take a moment and think if they saw anything unusual that may help them solve this crime.
"Blue Diamond is traveled quite frequently, so we know someone out there had some information," Trooper Loy Hixson said.
Investigators said the driver hit the victim so hard that several pieces of the car were left behind at the scene. They’re hoping they can use those pieces to gather a description of the vehicle.
